My personal routineI had been a high-volume style lifter for many years. However, recently I found what I believe to be a much better way to lift -- High Intensity Training (HIT). The best source of information on this style of training that I have encountered is at CyberPump. If you are interested in gaining muscle and losing fat in a sane and safe way I highly suggest that you stop by and check out at least the "HIT FAQ". Especially do so if you consider yourself a "hardgainer". My training schedule is now much simplified: I lift twice a week concentrating on multi-joint exercises. On day 1 I concentrate on the deadlift with secondary emphasis on my back and biceps. On day 2 I concentrate on the squat with secondary emphasis on chest and triceps. br> NutritionNutrition is the key to bodybuilding -- whether you are striving to gain lean muscle mass or strip fat. To determine a training diet you need accurate data of the nutritional content of the foods you eat. Some of this can be found on packing, but I've never seen a banana with a nutritional content label! :-) The U.S. Government has kindly provided an online database of such information that can be accessed freely. You can find it at www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/cgi-bin/nut_search.pl. |
